Being so close to C.S.T., this college gets the maximum number of patients. This is particularly beneficial as students get exposure to a wide range of clinical cases and plenty of practice.
Crowd:
Most of the students are from Maharashtra, of which almost a fourth are from Mumbai. The rest are the admissions through AIPMT. Expect a culture shock, no matter where you are from. Survival here also depends on how fluent you are with Marathi - it gets you brownie points with the patients and the non teaching staff.
Canteen:
Apart from the hostel mess, there is a college canteen too. The food is reasonably priced, average in taste.
Hangouts:
Since you are in South Mumbai, all the cool hangouts are a stone's throw away. Sterling, Regal, Eros, Mocha, CCD, Barista, Marine Drive, Subway, Gelato, Mc Donald’s are all 5 minutes away from the college. The sad part is that you do not get enough free lectures to make merry.
Attendance:
Well, you do need to have a decent amount of attendance to do well in your vivas.
Festivals:
The college has a cultural festival called Harmony that is usually in December and a Sports festival called Lakshya in November.

Verdict:
Having the G.D.C & H., Mumbai label to your name adds a lot of weightage to your B.D.S. degree. So eventually it does pay off to be stuck in there for 5 years.
