Location:
Located in central Mumbai.
Pretty accessible from Dadar (W.Rly and C.Rly), King’s Circle (Harbour Rly.), Matunga (C.Rly.) and Wadala(Harbour Rly.) stations. Also bus stops are at a walking distance.
Infrastructure:
Huge campus and it is vast and beautiful. The college building is slightly old but is well maintained. No shortage of spaces with an in-campus football field and a basketball court to name a few. Hostel facilities are available. There are 5 hostel buildings which cater to the students' need of accommodation.
Fees:
Rs. 27,000/year for general category
Rs. 12,000/year for reserved category
Faculty:
Very helpful but expect the student to study every subject in complete detail and set papers which test an individuals intelligence. The importance of professors is more out here because of its autonomous nature. Many times the questions asked in the final exams are straight from the professors notes. (and dont forget the reco letter for GRE students)
Attendance:
Professors are particular about attendance. Attendance is an issue here. 75% or else letter to your parents. Also we have daily assessments and surprise tests.
Crowd:
Crowd is very enthusiastic. ICT trains people to be perfect all-rounders in life. Students get engrossed when it comes to technical festivals, cultural and sports festivals, be it their own college fest or any other, and this happens all round the year.
Canteen:
2 canteens. kaam chalau, but overflowing with students most of the times. The food is damn cheap thanks to bp godrej, take butter sada dosa for example, it costs just Rs. 10!! we also have a hostelite version of the canteen which is open in late hours till 11.30 pm.
Hangouts:
Nothing much except food joints which provide fast food, south indian, ice cream parlours. But the area is pretty lively because of other colleges and schools in the surrounding. Various restaurants in Matunga and among favourites, Mani’s idli, Garnish, Classic, Relax. There’s NewYorkers for those who eat only in “elite” restaurants and Just Chill softies for desserts. CCD is also close by.
Festivals:
A festival at the starting of the year for freshers is organized. Thereafter, inter college cultural fest, intra collegecultural fest, intra college sports fest, inter college sports fest are celebrated at a huge scale.
YICC /YRC national level technical festivals for PGs. Exergy is the national level technical festival for UGs. MANZAR is the cultural festival and SPORTSAGA is the sports festival. There is also an annual marathon called ICT GREEN MARATHON, which is kind of a charitable event.
Many other fests organized by hostel folks are held all round the year.
Placements:
Very Good…the name of the institute and its legacy are enough to get excellent placements. Companies like Reliance, TCS, Astra Zeneca, Bakers, BPCL, HPCL, Asian paints etc. also place a few students sometimes.
Verdict:
This institute, though is not famous among the masses but its definitely famous among the classes, it has great future for the students. Its name is known to many, even outside the country. A Must take.
