NOTE: The two colleges are totally different but are managed by the same organization and are located in the same campus.
Location:
Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE) and Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) are a 15 minute ride by rick from Andheri railway station (W. Rly. & Harbour Rly.) and share the same campus with BHAVANS college.
Infrastructure:
Infrastructure is decent with most of it under renovation. Campus is one of the largest amongst the colleges of Mumbai. Lack of AC's might pull it down a bit but the natural environment is a plus point. SPCE building might look old but they have the best infrastructure with reference to labs, workshops. Pretty decent infrastructure in SPIT.

Faculty:
The faculty out here is decent. They have enough knowledge about the subject to teach and clear your doubts if any. Not very strict.
Attendance:
Attendance is not too strict. A minimum of 60% of attendance in all subjects is required. Test marks carry more weight age over the attendance. But with the crowd that you find in the college, most often you end up attending lectures.
Crowd:
“OK”. Definitely you will meet many nerds and geeks. A bunch of cream crowd can also be expected. Good fun loving life. "Khao, Piyo, aur Aish Karo".
Canteen:
The canteen is big as compared to other colleges, but still with 7 branches (SPCE and SPIT combined) seems a little small. The menu is good ranging from punjabi to chinese. There is a sandwich counter as well. The menu is decently priced.
Hangouts:
On Campus: Quadrangle and Katta at SPIT entrance, Bhavan’s ground, Auditorium/Amphitheatre, Lake (Boating Facility Available!!)
Off Campus: Malls (Fun Republic, Citi Mall, Infinity Mall), Loads of places in Lokhandwala.
Festivals:
SPACE - Sardar Patel Annual Cultural Extravaganza. History of 28 years.
NIRMAAN - Annual Technical Festival
Placements:
Excellent records and scores over most colleges. It is one of the oldest colleges in Mumbai and hence has a name and a legacy attached to it. Round about 50%-60% of the students apply for placements. 100% placement record. SPCE students are placed in companies like Reliance Energy, Leighton, L&T, Siemens etc. and those from SPIT into Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and so on. Average salary is around Rs.3 lac p.a.

Verdict:
Excellent academics and fantastic placements gives this college an upper edge over most engineering colleges. The crowd is a let down. But it definitely should be one of the top 5 on the priority list of the student. A must join if you get your desired branch.
